Abstraction Games is a video game publisher, game development and platform adaptation studio based in The Netherlands.
Hotline Miami was ported by Abstraction Games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita consoles, using a modified version of Sony's PhyreEngine, this port was later released on PC as a free update for Hotline Miami in 2013 including translations to different languages, bugfixes, and a better performance.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number Edit
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was ported from Game Maker 7.0 to Abstraction's SilverWare Engine during it's development using their own technology called GameBaker 2.0, fixing the performance issues of the game and making the porting process to PlayStation and Android devices easier.
Mod Support in Hotline Miami 2 Edit
Before the Level Editor's first beta release, mod support using the tool created by TcT2k HLM Wad Explorer was confirmed by Abstraction's employee Frans Kasper on Reddit, allowing both the main game and custom levels made in the Level Editor to use custom assets.
